Our very first pairing brings us a match made across two continents, Australian Coorong Reserve Chardonnay paired with delicious citrus flavors of California Style Shrimp.
Amy’s Wine Pick : Coorong Reserve 2016 Chardonnay
Laura’s Food Pick : California Style Shrimp
This 2016 Chardonnay from South Eastern Australia is light, fruity, and refreshingly crisp with flavors of lemon, lime, white peach, delicate nutmeg and a hint of oak.
The citrus notes play nicely with dishes from the sea like oysters, fish and of course shrimp. The refreshing nature of this wine paired nicely with the slight spice from the garlic and pepper in the Shrimp marinade!
Extra bonus about this recipe beyond being extra tasty, it can be on your table in minutes! It also freezes well for prep ahead convenience, AND is Whole 30 compliant!
Super busy mom hack – skip the skewers and throw in a skillet for an even quicker prep time and serve like a stir-fry over some cauliflower rice!
This recipe came in my workshop box from the Sip & Prep party we had a few weeks ago, so all I had to do was pull it from the freezer in the morning and throw it on the stove when I got home!
Before we had a chance to sit down for dinner, we found yet another unexpected home repair we have to complete – so I REALLLLY needed this wine!
